As the Lunar New Year approaches, joy fills the hall. On February 6th, the 2026 Lunar New Year Gala, co-hosted by Greater New York Senior Center, Chifu Center, Golden Spring Senior Center, and Mazel Senior Center, was grandly held in Flushing.

Over 800 seniors from various senior centers gathered together, celebrating the new year through a rich variety of performances and sharing their camaraderie. The atmosphere was festive, warm, and harmonious.
All performances were independently prepared and passionately presented by seniors from the centers, covering diverse art forms including chorus, dance, Yue opera, tai chi, erhu, and qipao fashion show.

The seniors were spirited and radiant, showcasing their positive, healthy, and optimistic attitudes through heartfelt emotions and remarkable talents, earning waves of applause.
The program was well-organized and diverse — the grand chorus was majestic, the dances were elegant and graceful, the Yue opera singing was lingering and charming, the tai chi was both gentle and powerful, the erhu solo was melodious and deeply moving, and the qipao show was dignified and elegant, pushing the atmosphere to climax after climax.

The splendid performances not only demonstrated the seniors' deep artistic foundation but also conveyed their love for life and perseverance.
Highlighted performances include grand choruses "Our Chinese Dream" and "Love My China," dances "Apple Fragrance" and "Peach Blossom Red," Tibetan dance "The Girl," Yue opera medley, tai chi "Chinese Fan," ladies' choir "Honghu Lake Waves" and "My Motherland," erhu solo "Moon Reflected in the Second Spring," group dances "Mountain Song Love" and "Rain Lane Beauty," chorus "Country Road" and "Jingle Bells," qipao show "Moonlight on the Lotus Pond," solo dance "Opera Tales," group dance "Night Rain on the River," and the finale chorus "You Are in My Heart" and "Waiting for You in Golden Autumn."

With steady steps, warm voices, and confident dance moves, the seniors proved that age is never a limit — passion keeps life vibrant.
